Letter from the Serramonte Ridge Renters Association to the Daly City Council
On September 26, 2021, the Serramonte Ridge Renters Association sent the City of Daly City a letter requesting an investigation into wrongdoing by Serramonte Ridge Property Management, LLC.
Sadly, the Serramonte Ridge Apartments property manager mislead below market rate tenants by telling them that their rent was increasing to market rate thereby forcing them to leave their affordable housing. The property manager persuaded BMR tenants to leave because all BMR units were sunsetting and she wanted to lease the units at market rate to increase profits.
The City of Daly City did not prevent this from happening regardless on public complaints.
Jefferson Union High School District leases the land where Serramonte Ridge Apartments are located to Serramonte Ridge Property Management, LLC. JUHSD did not protect BMR tenants.
In 2021, Daly City Lost 79 Affordable Apartment Units

Since the 1980’s Serramonte Ridge apartment complex has provided 79 affordable rental units. In September 2021, all Serramonte Ridge BMR units were phased out for new tenants.
